South Shore Artist Wins Competition Held by the Natural Science Center
Norwell, MA: November 5th, 2004
Cold Water Creek catalogue South Shore artist Jill Flynne has been selected by the South Shore Natural Science Center as the featured artist to show her works at the Vine Hall Gallery during the Center's Spring Flower Show, scheduled for March 2005. Flynne's show, titled "Floral Inspirations," will appear at the gallery for five weeks next spring. One particular work has also been chosen to represent the Center and the show on the promotional materials, including the official invitations.

The South Shore Natural Science Center, a non-profit environmental education center, opened the competition at the end of summer, with a call for works from artists specializing in floral paintings and photographs. Flynne, who has crafted a healthy stock of floral watercolors and illustrations, delivered several samples that the Center found outstanding.

"It certainly is an honor," Flynne says. "The gallery show is a wonderful event, but I'm also pleased that the Center thought so much of my work as to use it to publicize the show." "Floral Inspirations" will feature approximately twenty works by Flynne, floral paintings and landscapes, crafted in her personal style using soft, bright watercolors to capture the uniqueness of color, movement, and presence of a place.
